COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A weak system brought a wintry mix of precipitation to the area and left some icy spots on some area roads this morning and delayed a few schools.
There are a few reports of icy roads in the northern areas of the Midlands, especially in northern Kershaw and Newberry counties.
The Newberry County Sheriff's Office is warning of some icy bridges in low, rural areas. The thin sheet of ice will melt as the temperatures rise this morning.
Temperatures have already started to warm above freezing. Any light frozen precipitation will change to a cold rain. There's a 30% chance of showers through Thursday afternoon and a 40% of chance of rain Friday.
A fast moving low will enter the state Saturday with more rain and wind moving through the state. Cold showers will wind down late Saturday evening, possibly ending with a few wet snowflakes.
