Suspect lunges for cash drawer at Midlands dollar store

FOREST ACRES, SC (WIS) - The Forest Acres Police Department needs your help finding a man who robbed the Family Dollar store on Two Notch Road.

According to an incident report, the suspect stepped up to the counter with a bag of potato chips around 7:15m on December 1. When the cashier went to get change for another customer, the suspect lunged for the register.

The clerk and another employee tried to stop the man before he could get off with any money, according to the report, and one of the clerks injured her wrist in the scuffle.

The report also said the suspect grabbed a $10 bill during the struggle, but it was torn in half. In all, the report says the man got away with $15.

The police have been unable to find the suspect but they did find a jacket matching the robber's description nearby. It is a red coat with blue sleeves. The reports says a cell phone was found in the jacket pocket.
