Columbia airport offers free parking to military

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia's airport is thanking military members for their service by offering free parking during the holidays.

Starting Monday, active duty military travelers and visitors get one day of free parking at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. The offer applies to parking in the garage or surface lot and runs through Jan. 2, 2011.

To get the complimentary parking, military members just need to present a military ID when they leave the parking lot plaza.
