Pilot for TV thriller shoots in Charlotte area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A possible television show boasting big-name talent is looking for extras as it shoots the pilot in the Charlotte area.

20th Century Fox Television holds an open casting call for extras Friday evening at Plaza Fiesta Carolinas in Fort Mill, S.C., and Tuesday at Carolina Mall in Concord.

Producers of the series "Homeland" say they're looking for all types and ages of people to fill in background scenes.

A television pilot resembles a dress rehearsal of what a series would look like. If the "Homeland" pilot is a hit, the series may be filmed around Charlotte.

The thriller stars Emmy Award-winner Claire Danes as a CIA officer building a case that a Marine sergeant missing for a decade has switched sides and is planning to attack Americans on home ground.
