HORATIO, SC (WIS) - Someone broke into a Sumter County man's home and shot him to death two years ago, and police still haven't made an arrest. Now, the victim's family is asking for your help.

"He was just cool to be around," Andre Brooks said about Joseph "Trez" Brooks. "He always would tell me good things, motivate me."

Andre's biggest motivator is dead. Investigators say Trez was killed senselessly inside his home off Richbow Road in Horatio. The 25-year-old was watching TV when deputies say some one broke in and shot him. They say the intruder ran away and didn't take anything.

"I couldn't believe it," said Andre. "I didn't know who would do something like that to him."

Two years later, and no arrests. Trez's father, Joseph, says his son's death leaves him feeling empty.

Investigators need your help finding the person who murdered Trez. Any information would help officers and his family figure out what happened that evening. Until then, Andre is holding on to every memory to ease the pain of losing his big brother.

"I always think about him in a good way that makes me smile a little bit," said Andre. "But I think about him every day I wake up. He was always with me, right beside me."
