I-77S blocked near Bluff Road after multiple accidents, truck fire

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 is blocked near Bluff Road after several accidents, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said two wrecks happened around 12:30pm near mile marker 5. One of the accidents involved an 18-wheeler that ran out of control, struck another car and caught fire.

The southbound lanes are shut down near the accidents. Troopers are redirecting traffic around the accident, and southbound drivers can exit I-77 at Shop Road and get back on the highway at Bluff Road.

So far, troopers don't know the extent of injuries related to the crash. A WIS News 10 crew is at the scene.
