FOREST ACRES, SC (WIS) - Police have arrested a man they say carjacked an 85-year-old woman in a grocery store parking lot.

A Crimestoppers tip led to the arrest of 48-year-old Bruce Waller Tuesday.  After being named a person of interest, Waller was identified in a police lineup by two witnesses.

Cameras caught the crime in progress outside the Kroger on Forest Drive on October 29. Police said an elderly woman was carjacked as she was waiting in her mini-van while her son went grocery shopping.

In the video, a man is seen opening the driver's side door and pulling the woman out of the van and taking off in the vehicle.  The carjacker backed into another vehicle before driving off.

The van was spotted the next day in a parking lot on Pinebelt Road, and recovered on October 31 by Richland County deputies, but a suspect had not been identified until Waller's arrest.

Waller has been charged with carjacking and hit and run.  He is custody at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
