COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Two Gamecocks have received Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors after clinching the SEC Eastern Division title Saturday.
Running back Marcus Lattimore was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week. Lattimore carried a school-record 40 times for 212 yards and three touchdowns in USC's 36-14 win at Florida. The freshman also established a school record for rushing yards in a season (964) and tied a single season touchdown total of 16.
Spencer Lanning was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. Lanning connected on three field goals all in the first half and all from over 40 yards out. Lanning also punted six times for a 43.7 yard average.
The Gamecocks will play Auburn on December 4th in Atlanta's Georgia Dome.
USC's next opponent is Troy at home Saturday. Kickoff is 12:12 p.m.
