LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) - A Midlands boy is being honored as South Carolina's Children's Miracle Network Champion Child. The award is being given at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

At only four years old, Gable Ward is becoming a frequent flyer. The little guy and his adoptive family are heading to Disney World, where Gable will accept the Children's Miracle Network's Champion Award.
Gabe is shy on camera, but his mother, Carolyn, says they feel honored and excited. This is the Lexington County family's first trip to Disney World. But as a champion family, they've already visited Washington, DC, where he met the president and Miss America!

The honor is given to one child in each state who has fought a health issue like disease or injury at their local children's hospital. Gabe has battled illnesses since birth and has autism, asthma and is bi-polar. His twin sister died at only two years old.
The family is not looking back on past struggles, but only ahead to a special weekend for their little champion.
