Fire leaves three people without a home

GASTON, SC (WIS) – Smoke alarms saved the lives of three people Tuesday night, according to fire officials.

It took Lexington County firefighters an hour to get a house fire under control near Fish Hatchery Road in Gaston.

The fire started around 7:30pm Tuesday at a house on Battery Creek Road. When firefighters arrived, they found the house fully involved with flames.

Three people living in the home were all able to make out safely. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Damages are estimated at $150,000.
