WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Priests in Wilmington are preparing for some changes that will affect Catholics from South Carolina to Rome.
The wording of the Catholic mass is changing for the first time in decades.
Some of the changes get the wording closer to Latin version. For example: when the priest says "the Lord be with you," instead of replying "also with you," the people will answer, "and with your spirit."
The changes will go into effect just before next Christmas, but Catholic leaders are preparing for the new wording now.
