Victim in Finlay House explosion dies

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - One of the electricians injured in an explosion at Columbia apartment building in September has died.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 74-year-old Robert Cunningham died Wednesday at the Augusta Burn Center.

Cunningham was a private contractor working inside the Finlay House on Blossom Street September 9 when an electrical problem caused a main breaker to blow.

Almost 170 seniors had to be vacate the 19-story complex near Columbia's Five Points for two days because building had no power after the explosion.

There is no word on the condition of the other man injured in the accident.
