Gamecocks remain only ranked team in the SEC east

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - In what's normally one of the toughest divisions in college football, South Carolina finds itself in a class by itself. The Gamecocks are the only team in the division in the top 25.

For the ninth straight week, South Carolina is considered by the major college beat writers and the major college coaches to be one of top 25 football teams in the nation.

The Gamecocks fell a notch in the Associated Press media poll to 18th, but stayed at 17th in the Coaches' Poll.

Carolina faces Arkansas Saturday, November 6, at 7pm.  A Gamecock win coupled with a Florida loss means South Carolina clinches the SEC East.

They'll have to do it without cornerback Chris Culliver. He's out for the rest of the regular season after tearing his pectoral muscle against Tennessee.
