BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WIS) – In a joint investigation, Berkeley and Florence County Sheriff's deputies arrested seven people they say were involved in a dog fighting ring in the Lowcountry.
The raid happened Saturday at a suspected dog fighting and baiting house on Nolton Lane in Moncks Corner. Deputies seized approximately 20 dogs, $14,000 in cash and one firearm during the operation.
Among those arrested in the raid was 33-year-old Adrian Ingram of Mccormick Street in Sumter. He's being held in the Berkeley County Detention Center on Animal Fighting and Baiting charges awaiting a bond hearing.
The others arrested were Willienn Darnell Peace, 33, of Moncks Corner; Tyrone Washington, 32, of Moncks Corner; Henry Gee, 62, of Lynchburg; Marion Johnson, 29, Robert Watkins, 46, of Raleigh, NC and Jermaine Peace, 36, of Goose Creek. All are awaiting bond hearings.
