ST MATTHEWS, SC (WIS) - Police have arrested one man and identified another as suspects in a carjacking and shooting at a St. Matthews gas station October 20.
SLED has identified 30-year-old Johnny Steve Moye as a suspect in the incident. Agents say Moye is on the run and may be armed and dangerous.
Moye is described as a B/M, 6'2", 175 lbs with brown eyes and black hair. He is from the Hopkins and Eastover area, but could be hiding any where.
A Crimestoppers tip helped to nab the other suspect, Tyrone Grailsford. Grailsford is in custody at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Police say Grailsford and Moye approached the victim, Kenwin Fludd, around 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Short Stop Gas Station on Bridge Road in St. Matthews and asked for directions.
Fludd said he was standing by the driver's door of his 1997 off white Cadillac Deville when one of the men showed a gun and told him to put his keys, wallet and cell phone in the car.
"He told me to back up, turn around and walk toward the street," said Fludd. "I turned around like he said and I walked toward the street thinking, 'What's going to happen next?'"
Police say as Fludd walked away, both suspects got into the car and drove away. Fludd said they fired a shot at him before getting away.
Police say Grailsford and Moye were last seen driving east on Highway Six towards US 601. Fludd's Deville, with South Carolina tag BJV-817, has not been located.
