COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who robbed a credit union near the Village at Sandhill Tuesday.
The Richland County Sheriff's Department said around 2:15 p.m., a man entered the Safe Federal Credit Union at 100-4 Forum Drive and demanded that the bank staff put their hands up and give him the money in teller's drawer.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said the suspect was covered with clothing from head to toe and had a small cut in his mask for his eyes with plastic bags on his hands. Deputies say he indicated that he had weapon, but never actually presented one.
Lott said the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Lott said the male suspect is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 150 to 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket with a hood and royal blue jeans.
The suspect fled the scene in a 2000-2002 four-door white Pontiac Sunfire with dark tinted windows and a loud muffler, according to Lott. A second person was driving the Sunfire, which was last seen driving towards North Springs Road.
