Fight over girlfriend ends with shot fired

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A fight over a girl ended in a shooting investigation Tuesday morning.

According to Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Monique Mack, two men went to a house on MLK Blvd Tuesday morning to confront a woman and her boyfriend.  According to Mack, one of the men was the mother's teenage son. The other was the woman's ex-boyfriend.

They went to the house, according to Mack, because they didn't want the woman there.  After an argument started, the woman began to leave the home.  That is when the woman's son fired a shot into the air Mack says.  She added that the shot was not fired at anyone.

In the end, Mack says, the woman left with her son as well as her ex-boyfriend.  There were no injuries.
