COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The day after their first SEC road win in two years, the Gamecocks have gotten noticed by both the coaches and the writers voting in the rankings services.

Carolina is ranked 17th in both polls, up three places from 20th in the Coaches poll last week and two places in the AP.

After beating Vanderbilt 21-7 on Saturday in Nashville, USC also moved up one spot in the BCS rankings from 21st to 20th. SEC west foe Auburn ranks 1st in the BCS rankings, and Alabama is 7th. Arkansas, who Carolina plays after Tennessee, is just ahead of the Gamecocks at 19th.

The Gamecocks are the only team from the SEC east in the top 25 this week. They'll face Tennessee at Williams-Brice Stadium at Noon on October 30. You'll be able to see that game live on WIS-TV, with kickoff scheduled for 12:21pm.
