COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Another Fugitive Amnesty Day is coming up in Richland County. On Thursday, anyone wanted for a family court bench warrant can go immediately before a judge and have their case settled.
The event normally attracts more than 100 people who owe court ordered child support.
The sheriff's department says the Fugitive Task Force has mailed out 1,400 letters to fugitives of Family Court bench warrants, asking them to come forward and take responsibility.
Fugitives can make an appointment to turn themselves in by calling the warrant division at (803) 576-3167 or (803) 576-3042.
