At 4-0, RNE's head coach not overconfident

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Darius Polk, better known as "Bear," is having a good time in 2010. His Cavaliers are 4-0h, and he says the hard work in 100 degree weather in August has a lot to do with the early success.

"Summer conditioning was good," said Polk. "I think if we do what we do, we could go undefeated."

Head Coach Jay Frye isn't ready to take things that far yet. He knows the schedule was favorable over the first few weeks, but last week's win over Aiken got people talking about Richland Northeast.

"The first three we played against some teams that didn't have winning records," said Frye. "Last week we played a good team in Aiken and that gave us some confidence. But it's going to get a lot tougher this week and ahead."

While the schedule may be getting harder, the confidence gained from starting 4-0  can go a long way.

"We've been doing good," said Polk. "The team has been working well, coaches are working hard. We just have to continue to do what we supposed to do."
