ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - Police in Rock Hill are investigating a deadly shooting at a popular club after a concert. Officers say one man was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt, two others were injured.
It happened early Tuesday morning around 1:10 a.m. at The Money nightclub, across from Winthrop University. A Southern Rock/Country group called Parmalee based out of Greenville, North Carolina was playing at the club Monday night. The band was packing its equipment into an RV in the parking lot, when officers say two men barged in and demanded money from band members.
One of those men was armed, police say.
Officers say one of the Parmalee band members, also had a gun. Details aren't exactly clear, according to police, but both of the suspects and the band member with the gun were all shot.
At least one person was flown by helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center, a member of the Rock Hill fire department said. The other suspect and band member were taken to CMC as well.
According to police, one of the suspects later died from his injuries.
Officers are not sure who was shot first, the is still under investigation. No names have been released.
