COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Gamecock tight-end Weslye Saunders has been suspended from the team indefinitely, according to coach Steve Spurrier.
Spurrier said the senior was suspended for a team rules violation. The head ball coach said it had nothing to do with the ongoing NCAA investigation.
Saunders was not at practice Monday night.
Saunders has been questioned by the NCAA at least twice for his relationship with an agent. He was also asked about his living arrangements.
Spurrier says Saunders' status for the Gamecocks' opener against Southern Miss on Sept. 2 will be determined later.
