Spurrier and Swinney to join forces for charity

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - South Carolina's Steve Spurrier and Clemson's Dabo Swinney will join with other state football coaches for a charity event.

Spurrier and Swinney headline South Carolina Coaches for Charity next Thursday. Also taking part in the dinner and fundraiser are Kevin Higgins from The Citadel, Bobby Lamb of Furman, Buddy Pough from South Carolina State and Mike Ayers from Wofford. Each head coach will designate a charity for a portion of the funds raised.

The event is hosted by former Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry and the foundation named for him. DeBerry is a South Carolina native.

"The football coaches we have in this state are not only great coaches, but terrific people," said DeBerry. "For them to take time out of their busy pre-season schedules and come together in the name of charity says a lot about each of them."
