GASTON, SC (WIS) - A Lexington County man is charged with showing a pornographic video to two children at his house, the sheriff said Tuesday.

Deputies arrested Gary Owen King, 50, of Gaston, on two counts of disseminating obscene material to a child who is age 12 or younger. Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said King showed a movie to an 8-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy depicting two men engaging in sexual acts.

The incident happened on Sunday at King's home in the Gaston community, according to arrest warrants. Sheriff Metts said King played the movie on his laptop. The incident was reported to deputies on Monday.

Under South Carolina law, disseminating obscene material to a child who is age 12 or younger is a felony that carries a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison, Metts said.

King is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.

Metts asked anyone with information about additional instances in which King interacted inappropriately with children to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
