ISLE OF PALMS (WCSC) - Police have charged a man with attempted murder under a new anti-crime law.
Patrick Decarpio, 19, of West Columbia, is charged with attempted murder after police say he struck two men with a small baseball bat during an argument Saturday.
Decarpio told police he was defending himself and that he was hit first. According to one of the victim's he was struck twice in the head, which resulted in swelling and bruises on his upper arm. He was treated and released from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Decarpio is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center on 100,000 bond.
