Shooting in Sumter

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Sumter police are investigating a shooting.

According to Captain Alvin Holston with the Sumter Police Department, at about 4:45am, a shooting in Sumter occurred between two vehicles that were driving on Broad Street near the McDonald's and Rite Aide.

Holston says a gray vehicle fired several shots at a white vehicle.

Two people were admitted at Tuomey Hospital for gunshot wounds.

A spokesperson from Tuomey Hospital in Sumter says one was treated and released from the hospital, and a second was airlifted to Palmetto Richland in Columbia.

Police don't have a motive yet for the shooting and no suspects have been identified.
