The nominations are open to the community at large
The nominee would submit an online application (below).
Applicants would be called/emailed for follow up.
Must have filed their 2008 and prior tax returns and have good standing with the IRS.
All prior employees of JTH Tax, Inc, Liberty Tax Service, and Apex Development, Inc are not qualified to enter.
All current employees of JTH Tax, Inc, Liberty Tax Service, Apex Development, Inc and Raycom Media are not qualified to enter.
Must be willing to locate in the area where the franchise is awarded by Dec 1 and be a legal resident of The State of South Carolina.
They can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
Must be over 21 to apply by 12/01/2009.
Must show proven leadership track record.
Owning a successful business prior to or in addition to will be favorable but not required.
Each candidate will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire, including financials. Applicant will also be asked to provide personal references
Each candidate will be screened by an informational conference call on the tax industry and the company.
Each candidate will be then be asked to attend a regional meeting to further hear detailed information about the industry and Liberty Tax franchise model.
At said meeting, small group and/or individual interviews will be held with initial panel of judges for final round selection.
At the interview each candidate will have the opportunity to share why they deserve to be the Liberty Tax Hometown Hero and be awarded the franchise and start up fund.
Each candidate will be disclosed properly following all Federal Trade Commission franchise regulations.
The franchise fee of $40,000 will be granted to the successful candidate in the form of a franchise agreement between the candidate and Liberty Tax Corporate and a purchase and sale agreement between the current franchise licensee (B. Kelly Wyatt and John S. Powell III) where $0 dollars is the selling price.
The operating costs ($25,000) to get the franchise up and running will be spread out over a 2-3 year repayment plan should the candidate need the start-up fund.
Up to $50,000 may be available in financing additional expenses over a period of the next two years.
A second meeting/interview will be arranged with top 20 applicants chosen in the initial selection, for review by the final judging panel.
The last and final meeting will be the 'announcement' of the panel's unanimous choice for Liberty Tax Service New Franchise Award Winner!
Successful candidate must attend the five (5) day training at the Corporate Headquarters of Liberty Tax in Virginia Beach, VA. Candidate is responsible for all related expenses to/from the training.
An alternate winner will be selected in the event the selected winner does not meet or will not be able to meet all of the requirements stated above.
