ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - In Orangeburg County, deputies are looking for a man who's robbing convenience stores and they say he's hit two stores twice.
With a gun pointed at him, and his 6-year-old son in the way, Michael Parham stood helpless as a man held up the Orangeburg Quick Pantry Sunday.
Parham says he went to the store to buy a paper, but left the store a victim.
"No sooner than we got in line, he came through the door; when we seen him, I knew something was wrong, it just didn't look good," said Parham.
"He pulled his hand out of the bag and pointed the gun directly at my chest and told me to back up," said Parham.
Which Parham did, as he slipped down an aisle with his son.
The robber showed his gun to the clerk, and with his hands covered with gloves, he empties the register.
A few hundred yards away, the man parks his bike in the L'il Cricket parking lot, then goes inside.
With customers standing by, the man calmly waits his turn at the register, then shows his gun and empties the register.
After the job is finished, security cameras caught the man climbing back on his bike as he made his get away.
It's a story Michael Parham still finds tough telling others, and something he says is tougher to explain to his son.
"I mean, try to explain to him that a lot of bad things go on, and really I don't know, you can't explain why they do the things they do," said Parham.
Orangeburg County investigators don't have a suspect named in the case as of this report.
The sheriff's office asks if you have any information about these robberies, or if you think you know who the robber is, to please give Crimestoppers a call at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text the word TIPSC and your message to CRIMES (274637).
