COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Governor Mark Sanford is laying low, and his spokesperson says he is not making any appearances.
Meanwhile, the New York Times says there is another player in the governors extramarital affair, and he exposed it all.
Maria Belen Chapur used to be a reporter, but now the news is about her.
"I've been unfaithful to my wife. I developed a relationship with a, it started as a dear dear friend from Argentina. It began innocently as I suspect many of these things do. Just a casual emailing back and forth," says Gov. Mark Sanford.
And an Argentinean newspaper says Chapur is that dear friend. Now the New York Times says the other woman had another man, and he's the one who leaked emails of the affair to The State newspaper.
When reading the emails that went public this week, we found an excerpt from a woman named Maria to the governor.
"As I told you I shouldn't have done this trip but I would have felt worst (sic) if I wouldn't have come because it was too over the date, he is a very nice guy, great heart ... but unfortunately I am not in love with him ... You are my love."
The New York Times says an executive from Chapur's employer says she was dating another man, and after finding out about Sanford, he hacked into her account, making Maria Chapur into a news story of her own.
