COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - It looks like it will be another active night of weather as several severe thunderstorms are popping up throughout the state.

Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings have been posted.

Storm Alert Meteorologist Brooks Garner says, "We've got a muggy, hot day on tap with widely scattered downpours set to continue popping up through tonight. Any storms could easily produce a quick inch or two of rain with localized street flooding and lots of lightning. One or two storms could be severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts."

In downtown Columbia, we experienced pea-to-penny-sized hail from the storm, frequent lightning, strong wind and heavy rain.

On Polo Road in Richland County, trees bore the brunt of the storm. The powerful weather knocked one down.

On Cambridge Oaks Drive, a tree fell through a house. Luckily, no one was home at the time and no one was hurt. Firefighters went inside to cover up property and prevent and further damage.
