Bodies of Saddam's sons reburied near their father

(Baghdad-AP) March 14, 2007 - Saddam Hussein and his sons are together again, in death.

The bodies of Saddam's sons and a grandson have been exhumed and reburied near the ousted leader's grave in his hometown of Tikrit .

Saddam's sons, 39-year-old Odai and 37-year-old Qusai , and a 14-year-old grandson were killed in July 2003 in a gunbattle with US troops. They had been buried in the main tribal cemetery in Tikrit.

Saddam was executed in December and buried in an ornate building he had built for religious events.

A member of Saddam's tribe says they wanted to put the bodies of Saddam's family in one place.

The sons and grandson are now buried in the courtyard near the graves of Saddam's half-brother, who also was Saddam's former intelligence chief, and the former head of Iraq's Revolutionary Court. They were executed in January.
