(Asheville, NC-AP) January 22, 2007 - A student at Asheville High School who cracked her skull in a parking lot accident still is in the hospital in critical condition.
Principal Judd Porter says the student fell in the parking lot last Wednesday afternoon during some horseplay that went wrong. The girl apparently faked a fall in front of a slow-moving car but hit her head on the pavement and fractured her skull.
Porter says the student driving the car was charged with failing to slow to avoid an accident.
Mission Hospitals confirmed that Katie Miller was still in critical condition Sunday.
