Four confirmed dead in Arizona plane crash

(Kingman, AZ-AP) October 26, 2006 - The bodies of four people have been found in the wreckage of a small plane that crashed Wednesday in northwestern Arizona.

Initial reports said three people had been killed, but a sheriff says search-and-rescue teams who reached the site Thursday found four bodies. It appears that the victims were a man, a woman and two children.

The plane crashed mid-day Wednesday after the pilot reported icing on the wings.

The FAA says the plane was on its way to Phoenix from the San Francisco area.

The plane, a Cirrus, is designed to deploy a parachute in an emergency. At this time, it's not clear whether the chute was deployed.
