(Columbia) May 7, 2006 - A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved through the Midlands on Sunday, leaving a trail of possible tornadoes, wind damage and large hail.

The National Weather Service reported some moderate damage in Orangeburg County. There are reports that a roof was blown off of a horse barn near Shillings Bridge Rd. The NWS also said there was nickel-sized hail reported in Orangeburg.

Tornado warnings were issued earlier Sunday afternoon for Orangeburg, Bamberg, Berkley and Williamsburg Counties. There have been no official reports of tornadoes in any of those counties, although many residents around St. Stephen in Berkley County report seeing a twister in their neighborhood.

The storms produced strong winds upwards of nearly 60 mph, torrential downpours and, in Colleton County, golf ball-sized hail.
