ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - A man threatened to commit suicide at a Rock Hill motel on Thursday, and a standoff-type situation with police ensued.
About 25 officers responded to a call around noon that someone was threatening to take their own life at the Executive Inn on Anderson Road.
Police said the standoff lasted until about 5:00pm before a SWAT team entered the room to discover that not only was no one hurt, but there was no gun either.
Other guests at the hotel were required to stay either in, or out of, their rooms during the course of the standoff.
The suspect was taken from the scene for a mental evaluation.
