COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Columbia police officers have arrested a man in connection with a murder last week at the Colonial Village Apartments on West Avenue.
Officers arrived at the complex around 4:30pm on November 12 and found the front door to the victim’s apartment was open, according to CPD spokesperson Brick Lewis. Upon entering, police found William Belton dead.
Information gathered during the investigation led police to identify Joseph David Branch, 44, as the suspect. Branch was arrested Thursday afternoon by Columbia police without incident.
Branch is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
