Armed robbers steal $2.5k from Dalzell woman, sketches released

SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Police in Sumter have released sketches of two people who kidnapped and robbed a Dalzell woman at gunpoint.

Officials say the kidnapping happened at 3:00pm Wednesday outside the parking lot of the Dollar General on Broad Street in Sumter.

Rosa Jones, 69, told officers two people approached her car and got in, sitting in the passenger seat and backseat. One of the robbers pulled out a small pistol, and told Jones to drive.

Jones drove to an unknown location, where the robbers stole about $2,500 of her money. Jones said she wasn't injured.

The male robber was described as wearing a beige sweater, blue jeans and a baseball hat. He's about 5'8", 160-175 lbs. and about 50 years old. The suspect was described as African-American with a thin build.

The female robber was described as wearing a wig. She's about 5'6", 150 lbs. and about 47-50 years old. She was also described as African-American.
