PELION, SC (WIS) - Three men have been charged in connection with a shooting on Pine Grove Road in Pelion.

Authorities say 22-year-old Phillip Harold Jackson, 19-year-old Clifton Sutton and 18-year-old Alvin Agnew, Jr. have been charged with first-degree burglary and armed robbery.

Officials say Jackson, Sutton and Agnew were involved in the shooting of 24-year-old Winslow Hendrix.

Lexington County authorities say the shooting incident appears to be related to illegal drug activity.

The sheriff's department says the men then fled the scene in a Mercury Sable. Deputies say they pursued the men until they wrecked the Mercury, abandoned it and ran off.

Justin Williamson arrived to work at Hansen's Restaurant around 4:30pm when he saw the beige car speeding through a stop light.

"I hear a loud crash, and a big old cloud of dust and dirt just goes everywhere," said Williamson.

Sara Hoover spotted one of the men after the wreck.

"I saw a guy running back toward the woods this way and I heard police yelling, 'Get down, get down! Put your hands up in the air,'" said Hoover.

"It was surreal," said Justin Williamson. "It was, like, this is really happening in front of my eyes!"

Hendrix was taken to Palmetto Health Richland where he remains under critical condition.

Jackson, Sutton and Agnew were being held at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting bond hearings.
