COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - She said he was a jealous man.
"He had a lot of insecurities and thought I was cheating on him," said the woman whose identity we will not reveal.
Officials say it all came to ahead when her ex-boyfriend, Bun Mann, III, was thrown into a fit of jealous rage one night.
The attack started in the victim's apartment. She said "agony" was the best way to describe what happened to her.
The 18-year-old victim says she was held captive for 18 hours by Mann.
"I was begging and pleading and asking me to just turn me loose and let me go," said the victim.
Gripped with fear, the woman was worried Mann was going to stab her to death.
Investigators say Mann sexually assaulted her the entire time she was in the apartment, but she says the torturing didn't stop here.
"Once we left that morning, he jumped on the interstate headed towards Winnsboro," said the victim.
In the trip to Winnsboro, fear maintained its stranglehold on the woman.
"I fought over the knife from him while he was driving," she said. "I was just trying to stab him to get him pull over, so we fought around with the knife, but he did get it back. When that happened, that's when he pulled over and got out of the car."
Things only got worse for the woman on the side of the road.
"He dragged me out of the car, he just got on top of me started jumping on me fighting me throwing my head into the ground," said the victim.
It's here that the victim says everything changed.
"Once we made it to Winnsboro, that's when I decided to fight back, so I started to fight back and I told him I wasn't going to let him kill me that I was going to make it out," said the victim.
She doesn't know where her resolve even came from. "I guess it was just strength and I was praying," said the woman.
Bloody and bruised after 24 long, grueling hours, she was let go.
However, Mann took off on foot and hasn't been seen since.
So now after surviving the nightmare, the victim has turned to the search for Mann and justice.
"Please turn yourself in because you don't know the nightmares that I go through," said the victim.
Law enforcement is also putting plenty of effort into finding Mann. They have strong words for the man who still haunts the victim.
"Bun Mann, we are coming after you," said Sgt. Kim Myers with the Richland County Sheriff's Department. "You need to turn yourself in. This young lady is not able to get any sleep, she's in fear for her life."
The victim and investigators are turning toward the community for any information on Mann's whereabouts. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text the word TIPSC and your message to CRIMES (274637).
