SUMTER, SC (WIS) - Sumter County deputies are investigating who broke into a Pinewood Road home and cut a 13-year-old boy's hand during a robbery attempt.
Deputies say around 11:40pm Saturday, the boy was asleep on the couch when two men entered the home and demanded money.
Officials say one of the men was wearing a mask from the movie "Scream" while the other one was wearing a bandanna over his face.
Authorities say the boy's right thumb was cut by a sharp object. The two men the fled the scene shortly after.
As for the boy, he was transported to Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
