Prosperity police looking for sticky-fingered couple

PROSPERITY, SC (WIS) - Prosperity police say they think they know what one of the suspects looks like in an Antique store theft case, but they need your help.

The theft came as a total surprise to Glenda Kimsey. She greeted the two suspects at the door.

The woman asked detailed questions while police say the man was swiping a case full of rings and cameo pieces.

"She went with me this way and we just walked around," said Kimsey. "They totally, I had no idea, she was just a sweet looking lady, you know."

Kimsey was thrown off by the couple's knowledge of antiques and calm exit. The missing items took her nearly an hour to notice.

By that time, the thieves had left her shop in Little Mountain, traveled 8 miles down the road and hit another shop in Prosperity -- the one owned by Rhonda Lindler.

"Within an hour, they had done their duty in Little Mountain, come to Prosperity, done their deed here and were gone," said Lindler.

This time the thieves quietly took a case full of cowboy guns.

"Most of our customer base is over 40, so they just seemed like your normal customer," said Lindler.

Once she realized they weren't "normal," their age became irrelevant.

"I want them in jail," said Lindler.

Police have a few things to go on. The couple said they were on their way down from Michigan on their way home to Florida. Police say they have a lead, but they need a tip. If you have one, call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or text the word TIPSC and your message to CRIMES (274637).
