Juveniles may have started Irmo house fire, total loss

IRMO, SC (WIS) - Lexington County fire officials say juveniles may have started an early-morning fire that left an Irmo house a total loss.

Irmo Fire Marshal Jeff Allen said firefighters arrived at 312 Braewick Road at around 3:15am to find the house burning. The fire had developed rapidly, and caught the roof on fire before fire trucks got there. 

The fire was brought under control by 4:00am, and firefighters remained on the scene until 6:15am. Allen said no one was injured.

Allen also said the fire appears to have been intentionally set. He said materials found where the fire started indicate juveniles may have started the fire.

The house is a total loss, about $135,000 in damage. The content loss is approximately $33,000.
