Agapé Hospice is a Medicare/Medicaid-certified full-service hospice. We are licensed throughout South Carolina and are experts in pain and symptom management. Our nurses and nursing assistants have received advanced certification in hospice and end of life care.
What Agapé provides:
Agapé Hospice provides care for people with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses, such as: cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung, liver and kidney disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Alzheimer's or AIDS. We emphasize quality of life by striving to meet the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our patients as well as the needs of their loved ones.
At Agapé, hospice does not equal hopelessness. Our stated and impassioned purpose is to provide comfort in uncomfortable situations.
Who will provide the assistance?
• Nurses assess patients' conditions and help with pain (and other symptom) management.
• Nursing assistants help with bathing, personal hygiene, and light housekeeping.
• Chaplains provide spiritual support for individuals and families.
• Social workers help identify and resolve problems, assist with financial and insurance counseling or aid with funeral planning.
When a patient is in hospice, family members and/or caregivers may need time away. Agapé Hospice offers respite care in these instances. Facilities are available for temporary (up to 5 day) care, so that family members and/or caregivers can go on vacation, attend important events, or just take advantage of an opportunity to rest.
General Inpatient Hospice
General inpatient hospice care (also referred to as "short-term inpatient care") can be based in the patient's home, in the midst of familiar surroundings. If, for any number of considerations, home hospice care is not desirable or practical, Agapé Hospice offers general inpatient hospice care. In these instances, hospice care is provided at an Agapé Hospice facility. Nurses and other hospice workers provide inpatient hospice care for as long as desired or necessary.
