Councilman resigns seat, loses law license after tax evasion plea

A longtime Columbia city councilman has resigned his seat and had his law license suspended Tuesday after agreeing to plead guilty to federal tax evasion charges. E.W. Cromartie II turned in his resignation after a council meeting Tuesday afternoon at City Hall.
