D-Day Anniversary Page - wistv.com - Columbia, South Carolina

June 6, 1944 will go down as one of history's most important days. As Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy in pursuit of the liberation of France, uncertainty awaited them as well as a continent of men, women, and children who desperately needed someone to loosen and destroy Hitler's iron grip on Europe.

June 6, 2014 marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day, and our PJ Randhawa is on location in France as some of the world's last remaining World War II veterans return to the beaches that defined many of them as young men. Join us this week as PJ chronicles the men and women who gave up almost everything in the name of saving the world.
