Taylor Kearns is 29. Really.
Now that that's out of the way, Taylor is "living the dream," so to speak.
Taylor is a native of Hartsville, SC, where he was active in Community Theater (14 plays in all) and while attending Hartsville High School, enjoyed making short films and writing HILARIOUS short stories. Taylor was also a member of the Hartsville High School jazz band and enjoyed making ladies swoon with the dulcet tones of his flugelhorn.
At USC, Taylor was a member of the "Mighty Sound of the Southeast" marching band as well as the University Chorus. He also found time to play a little ping pong, win a film festival or two, get to class, garner a few student broadcasting awards and graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism in May of 2006.
Taylor joined the WIS staff in August of 2006, working originally as a photojournalist. Recently, Taylor began what we in the biz call "one-man-banding." That consists of driving, reporting, eating, digging, shooting, lighting, talking, blinking, sitting and writing, all by himself. Taylor also cooks a mean tuna noodle casserole. At times, Taylor has been known to frequent Columbia's entertainment districts looking for hot stories.
Taylor grew up watching WIS and is honored to be a member of the WIS Team.
In his spare time, Taylor collects antique firearms and shop at farmers markets. He also dabbles in film photography, model building, short filmmaking and freelance shenanigans.
