MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach man is out of jail Friday on child endangerment charges after police say he left his baby girl sitting in a parked car while he got a lap dance.

Geoffrey Allen Hale, 27, was arrested late Wednesday night at Derriere's Gentlemen's Club, 804 Seaboard St., shortly before midnight.

Officers were called the scene around 11:40 p.m. when someone reported an infant in a car seat in the back of an unoccupied vehicle. According to a police report, the responding officer located the vehicle's owner inside the club getting a lap dance.

After the dancer left the man's table, the officer asked the suspect who he was with. Authorities say Hale originally said he was there only with his wife, who is a dancer at the club, but later added his daughter was sleeping in the car.

According to the report, Hale told police he was only there to get a cell phone from his wife, and he didn't want to wake the infant, so he left her sleeping in the vehicle.

Police say the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were still in the car. Hale was arrested and charged; the mother of the child took custody.

On Friday, a judge set Hale's bond at $10,000.
