Luncheon to raise awareness for students with disabilities

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - More than 50,000 South Carolina students have a disability affecting how they learn in the classroom.

Specifically, dyslexia and vision issues can keep a child from performing at their best.

If you'd like to learn more about how to help a child succeed who has learning differences, there's an awareness luncheon happening Tuesday afternoon.

The non-profit "Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic" is hosting the event at noon Tuesday, at the Brookland Baptist Conference Center in West Columbia.

You need to reserve a seat by calling 463-8700.
