22 arrested in Lexington County drug sting

GASTON, SC (WIS) - Four alleged crack dealers and the 18 people police say they sold drugs to were arrested Friday, according to Lexington County deputies.

Sheriff James R. Metts says deputies arrested three women and one man for selling crack cocaine from two homes on Busbee Road and Glenn Road near Gaston. Officers also arrested 18 persons who tried to buy crack cocaine at the two homes.

Thirty-year-old Alfred Allen Geiger of Gaston, 31-year-old Toby Denise Geiger of Gaston, 74-year-old Mary Ann Geiger of Lexington and 52-year-old Annie Lee Scipio of Gaston face charges ranging from possession to distribution of various drugs, including crack, cocaine and marijuana.

Metts says the four were arrested at around 1:00pm Friday at the two houses.

Deputies also conducted an undercover sting operation at the home on Glenn Road, Metts said. Eighteen people were arrested when they tried to buy crack at the home.

Metts said the following people were arrested in the sting operation:

  • Timothy Bernard Bamberg, 38, of North, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess cocaine.
  • Jeffrey Clarence Blanton, 43, of Cayce, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Wayne Anthony Gamble, 47, of Columbia, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine after he drove up in a garbage truck that is owned by his employer and tried to buy crack cocaine.
  • James Hector Hamelinck, II, 39, of Lexington, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Joel David Hammond, 43, of West Columbia, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Jackie Hayward Hankinson, 55, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Pete Omenia Hartley, 64, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • James Harold Herlong, 37, of Swansea, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • William Lee Higginbotham, 45, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Michael Edward Lee, 26, of West Columbia, was arrested for attempting to possess crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana.
  • Denny Wingo McIver, 29, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Randy Scott McNew, 25, of Swansea, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  •  James Robert Pratt, 30, who does not have a permanent address, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Charles James Purdie, 48, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of public disorderly conduct.
  • Donald Tracy Russell, 35, of Lexington, was arrested on a charge of public disorderly conduct.
  • Ted Norris Russell, 39, of Orangeburg, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Russell Wayne Sightler, Jr., 33, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
  • Fernando Domingo Tomboc, 51, of Gaston, was arrested on a charge of attempting to possess crack cocaine.
