16-year-old Iceland student calls Bush's secret number

Posted: Updated:

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND (NBC) - A simple telephone call got a 16-year-old high school student from Iceland in a bit of trouble recently.

Vifill Atlason somehow found President Bush 's secret White House telephone number, and called him.

The student left a message for President Bush saying he was the President of Iceland, and that he just wanted to chat. He invited Bush to Iceland for a private meeting.

Young Vifill was expecting a phone call from Washington last Monday. Instead, police knocked on his door and asked him how he got President Bush 's number.

The teen said he doesn't remember how he got the number. He says he got it several years ago, and has purchased several new phones since then.
